How to Set Category Default Unit in GemCloud?

Setting the default unit for each category in GemCloud is essential for maintaining consistency in measurements and pricing. This guide will walk you through the steps to set the Category default unit effectively.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access Configuration Settings

  1. Log in to GemCloud: Open your web browser and log in to your GemCloud account using your credentials.

  2. Click on the Configuration Button: Locate the Configuration button on the top right corner of the dashboard and click on it.


Step 2: Navigate to Category Default Unit

  1. Go to the Customize ERP Section:
    • In the left menu, navigate to the Customize ERP section.
    • Click on Additional Settings.
    • From the dropdown menu, click on Category Default Unit.

Step 3: Category Default Unit Overview

  1. Access the Overview Page: You will be directed to the Category Default Unit overview page. This section displays the system's default units against each category.

  2. Edit Default Units:

    • In the action column, click on the Edit sign next to the category you wish to modify.

Step 4: Enter and Save Details

  1. Enter Details:

    • Enter the details for the following fields:
      • Parcel Type
      • Calibrated Selling Unit
      • Weight Unit
      • Decimals: (Decimals are the number of zeros you want to show in weight and cost. For example, 25.00 shows two decimal places.
  2. Save Changes:

    • Click on the Save button to save the changes made.
    • The unit will be successfully saved against the selected parcel type.
