How to add stones in GemCloud through Excel import?

Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Stones to Inventory via Excel Import

Step 1: Go to the Inventory Catalog Option

  1. Begin by navigating to the "Inventory catalog" option within the GemCloud interface.
  2. From the inventory catalog, select the "My Inventory" option to access your personal inventory details.

Step 2: Click on the Import Button

  • Locate the import button situated at the top right corner of the screen and click on it.


Step 3: Start Excel Upload
  1. Initiate the process for uploading Excel files by selecting the Products Import your products such as gemstones option.


Step 4: Select Excel Template Type
  1. You can download an Excel template from the system for the category you want to import.

Step 5:  Template - Entering Sub-Category
  1. After downloading the Excel file, please fill out your stone details. It is mandatory to enter the sub-category in the Excel file. 
  2. Once fill all the details please save your excel file.

Step 6: Select Upload Type

  1. Choose the type of upload you wish to perform. This could be a new inventory or an update to the existing inventory.
  2. If you are adding new stones, select the "New Inventory" and click on "Proceed to upload".

Step 7: Select Import Category

  • Choose the appropriate import category that matches the type of stones you are uploading.

Step 8: Mark the Checklist and Scroll Down

  • Click on the "Drop file or browse" button, then select the Excel file from your computer that contains the inventory data and click on "Proceed to Upload".

Step 9: Map the Data Fields

  • Map the columns in your Excel file to the corresponding fields in the GemCloud system. and at last click "Finish upload", This step ensures that the data is correctly interpreted and stored.

Step 10: Complete the Upload

  • Your file will be uploaded, and the stones will be added to your inventory.
